Lady Cats' volleyball defeats Excel Christian, Adairsville drops region matches

Woodland volleyball won its Senior Night match with Excel Christian Academy in straight sets Tuesday evening, 25-3, 25-7, and 25-8.

Izzy Hazelwood totaled 21 assists, five aces, and two kills for the Lady Cats. Katie Clowers had five aces and three digs. Karism Torres contributed four kills and two aces. Alex Williams produced four aces and three kills. Aby Childs had eight kills, and Reese Martinak added six kills.

Excel fell to 2-8 with the loss. 

Woodland (10-24, 1-6) plays at Rockmart on Thursday and will also face Unity Christian.

ADAIRSVILLE DROPS REGION MATCHES

Adairsville volleyball lost two region matches at LaFayette on Tuesday evening, falling to Calhoun 25-12, 25-15, and the host Lady Ramblers 25-12, 25-10.

In the loss to Calhoun, Myka Colston had two kills and two digs. Payton Hartline contributed two kills, and Nadelyn Dodson had 16 digs.

Against LaFayette, Olivia O’Tinger had three kills and two digs. Colston had two kills and two digs. Teaghan Myers contributed three assists and two digs, and Dodson added eight digs.

Adairsville (9-25, 2-8) travels to Ellijay next Tuesday to play host Gilmer and Northwest Whitfield.
