Lady Colonels drop two games on Saturday

Cass softball dropped a pair of tournament games Saturday at Hamilton Crossing, falling 4-0 to Hart County and 5-3 to Rockmart.
HART COUNTY 4, CASS 0
Hart County pitcher Chesnee Strickland scattered four hits and two walks to keep Cass off the scoreboard Saturday. Strickland struck out six of the 25 batters she faced.
The Bulldogs scored two runs in the top of the second inning and added two more in the top of the sixth to secure their win.
Natalie Hughes, Shyia Woods, KK Evans, and Kylie Gentry had one hit each for Cass.
Bailey York (6 IP, 4R, 1ER, 8H, 3BB, 5K) pitched all six innings for the Lady Colonels.
Hart County improved to 3-2.
ROCKMART 5, CASS 3
Rockmart scored four runs in the fourth inning and added an insurance run in the fifth en route to a 5-3 win over Cass on Saturday at Hamilton Crossing Park.
Cass narrowed the margin to 4-3 in the fourth inning, but got no closer.
Kylie Gentry (6 IP, 5ER, 9H, 1BB, 5K) pitched all six frames for the Colonels and was tagged with the loss.
Autumn Smith (two RBI), Shyia Woods (RBI), Natalie Hughes, Harlee Thomason, Molli Morrow, Bailey York, Emma Gibson, and KK Evans had one hit in the loss.
Rockmart improved to 4-1.
Cass (2-3, 1-1) hosts Wheeler on Monday at 6 p.m. and returns to Region 7-4A play on Tuesday at home against Southeast Whitfield.
