Lady Colonels, Lady Canes pick up region wins

Braelyn Franklin had a double and two RBI on Tuesday in the Lady Colonels' 13-0 win over Woodland.

Kylie Gentry tossed a four-inning, one-hitter while Harlee Thomason and Sydney Satterfield combined for five hits and three RBI as Cass shutout visiting Woodland on Tuesday evening, 13-0.


Gentry needed only 50 pitches. She issued no walks and fanned four while earning the win in the circle. 


Thomason was 3-for-3 with two RBI. Satterfield was 2-for-3 with one RBI.


Braelyn Franklin (double, two RBI), Cayce Brown (two RBI), Bailey York (two RBI), KK Evans (RBI), Molli Morrow (RBI), and Darianna Sosa (double) added one hit for the Lady Colonels.


Jordan Hammond had the lone hit for Woodland.


Kamryn Smith (3 IP, 13R, 3ER, 10H, 2BB, 1K) was tagged with the pitching loss.


The Lady Cats committed five errors.


Cass (7-4, 5-3) visits Cartersville on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. start.


Woodland (3-6, 3-5) travels to Cedartown for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch on Thursday.




CARTERSVILLE 13, DALTON 1


The Lady Canes scored nine runs in the bottom of the third inning on Tuesday evening leading to a 13-1 win in four innings.


Zoie Shiflett (4 IP, 1ER, 2H, 2BB, 5K) pitched all four innings for the Hurricanes.


Jordan Bishop (two home runs, four RBI) and Kennedy Crenshaw (home run, three RBI) led the Cartersville offense with two hits. Shiflett, Ansleigh Tilley (grand slam home run, four RBI), LaKaiya Banks, and Addie Burns added one hit.


The loss dropped Dalton to 2-8 overall and 2-6 in Region 7-4A.


Cartersville (10-2, 8-0) hosts Cass on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.




RIDGELAND 15, ADAIRSVILLE 5


The Adairsville Lady Tigers produced eleven hits on Tuesday night but not enough runs in a 15-5 loss to visiting Ridgeland.


Adairsville led 5-4 through three innings, but the Lady Panthers added eleven more runs to pull away over the next three innings.


Three pitchers worked in the circle for the Tigers in their loss including Maddie Baggett (2.1 IP, 4ER, 6H, 1BB, 1K), Ashlyn Carlton (3 IP, 7R, 5ER, 5H, 2BB, 1K), and Jordan Clay (0.2 IP, 4ER, 6H, 1BB).


Alivia Joslin, Brie Patterson (double, RBI), and Riley Mounger (RBI) had two hits for Adairsville. Lily Roberts (RBI), Ashlynn Durden (RBI), Carlton (RBI), Taylor Evans, and Ansley Powell added one hit.


Ridgeland improved to 7-9 overall and 3-3 in Region 7-3A. Adairsville slipped to 9-6 overall and 2-5 in region action. 


The two teams square off again Thursday at Ridgeland at 5:30 p.m.
