Lady Tigers begin region play with a win

The Adairsville girls' soccer team won its Region 6-AAA opener Tuesday night at home over Lafayette, 10-0.


The Lady Tigers scored four goals in the first half and closed out the game with a tenth goal in the 77th minute.


“All phases of the game were working tonight,” said Adairsville coach David Sexauer. “This was a full team effort. We had five girls to score and seven to assist. Our triangular passes, through balls, and communication were good. Carly Edwards controlled the midfield and made some clutch passes. Alivia Joslin also had a good night and showed off her speed.”

Alexa Damer and Samantha Gough scored three goals for the Lady Tigers. Jordyn Hartline scored two goals. Joslin contributed two goals and one assist. Ella Edwards and Lizzie LeMay finished with one goal and two assists. Edwards, Jacksyn Elrod, and Gabi Bacerra added one assist.


The Adairsville girls (6-2, 1-0) visit Ridgeland on Friday for their next region match.
