Lady Tigers defeat Coahulla Creek to secure home state playoff game

The Adairsville girls' soccer team blanked visiting Coahulla Creek on Tuesday night, 7-0, and secured a home game in the opening round of the state playoffs.

The Lady Tigers, currently ranked No. 9 in Class AAA, can finish no worse than second in the region and currently trail Bremen who is 4-0 but has two region games remaining.

Ella Edwards led the Lady Tigers on Tuesday with four goals and one assist. Alivia Joslin finished with two goals and one assist. Elle Causby contributed a goal and one assist. Sam Gough had two assists and Emma Ridley added one assist.

Adairsville (11-3, 5-1 Region 6-AAA) has non-region regular season games remaining against Pickens and Woodland on April 9 and 11.

COAHULLA CREEK 9, ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 0

The visiting 7th-ranked Colts improved to 10-4-1 on the season and 5-0 in Region 6-AAA.

The Adairsville boys (4-6-2, 3-2) will host Pickens on April 9 and a region game with LaFayette on April 11.
