Lady Tigers fall at 9th-ranked Heritage-Catoosa

Ninth-ranked Heritage-Catoosa scored eight runs in the bottom of the second inning Monday evening to take charge and defeated visiting Adairsville 10-1 in five innings.
After the Lady Tigers narrowed the margin to 8-1 in the top of the third inning, the Lady Generals added two more runs in the third for the last of the scoring.
Maddie Baggett (1.2 IP, 8R, 3ER, 4H, 2BB, 1K) was the Tigers’ starter in the circle and was tagged with the pitching loss. Ashlyn Carlton (2.1 IP, 2ER, 3H, 1BB) pitched in relief for Adairsville.
Ansley Powell (double), Chloe Hill (double), Lily Roberts, Ashlynn Durden, and Baggett had one hit each for the Lady Tigers.
Heritage improved to 14-7 overall and 10-6 in Region 7-3A.
Adairsville (12-15, 3-13) hosts Northwest Whitfield on Tuesday at 5:55 p.m. and travels to Tunnel Hill to play the Lady Bruins on Thursday in a 5 p.m. start.
