Lady Tigers launch '22-'23 season with a win at Armuchee
The Adairsville girls built a 29-16 lead by halftime and pulled away in the second half Saturday for a 62-36 win at Armuchee.
“Our girls played hard and smart,” said Lady Tigers’ head coach Melissa Winters. “The girls pushed the ball in transition and were able to score quickly. They worked the half court sets effectively too.”
Adairsville led 13-10 after the opening eight minutes and extended the advantage to 13 points at the intermission. The Lady Tigers led 42-25 through three quarters and pulled away for a 26-point win.
“We had a good all-around night with everyone scoring and contributing on offense and defense,” Winters continued. “We had 18 steals tonight and went 4-for-9 from behind the arc.”
Alissa Winters led Adairsville with 20 points. Analee Morris followed with 14. Darby Adams scored nine. Naxyria Roberts posted seven points. Zariyah Hicks contributed six. Aliya McBride finished with four and Ta’Naysia Porter added two points for the Lady Tigers.
Chloe Shaw led Armuchee (1-1) with 14 points.
Adairsville (1-0) plays again in the Armuchee-hosted tournament Monday at 5 p.m. against North Murray.
