The Adairsville Lady Tigers scored three runs in the second inning and added five more in the seventh Wednesday night to win at Calhoun, 8-3.
The Tigers outhit Calhoun 12 to 4, and the Adairsville defense made no errors.
Adairsville pitchers Chloe Hill (3 IP, 3ER, 2H, 2BB, 2K) and Paislee Rooks (4 IP, 0R, 2H, 0BB, 2K) combined for four strikeouts, with Hill collecting the win and Rooks closing out the final 13 batters.
Madison Brookshire had three hits to lead the Adairsville offense, including one double and two RBI. Ansley Powell (RBI) and Hill (RBI) each had two hits. Rooks (home run, three RBI), Ashlynn Durden (RBI), Hynleigh Statham, Lily Brookshire, and Sydney Satterfield each added one hit.
The loss dropped Calhoun to a 1-6 record.
Adairsville (5-1) travels to Tunnel Hill on Thursday to visit Northwest Whitfield at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Tigers will play East Hall and Banks County on Saturday in Homer.
