Lady Tigers shutout Gilmer

The Adairsville girls soccer team blanked visiting Gilmer on Monday night, 3-0, in a non-region match.

Alivia Joslin broke the scoring ice in the 37th minute off an assist from Carly Edwards to put the Lady Tigers up 1-0 at the halftime break.

In the second half, Alexa Damer connected with Ella Edwards for a goal in the 77th minute to give Adairsville a 2-0 lead. Damer scored a goal of her own just about a minute later off an assist from Joslin.

The Adairsville girls improved to 9-3 overall and are 3-1 in Region 6-AAA play.

The Lady Tigers host Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe on Friday.

GILMER 1, ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 0

The visiting Bobcats defeated the Tigers 1-0 on Monday night in Tiger Valley in a non-region contest.

Gilmer improved to 4-7 on the season.

The Tigers (3-5-2, 2-1 Region 6-AAA) return to region action on Friday when they host Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 7 p.m.
