Lafayette tops Adairsville at LakePoint, 4-2
The Adairsville Tigers dropped their fifth straight game Tuesday night with a 4-2 loss to LaFayette in a Tigers' home game moved to LakePoint in Emerson.
The Ramblers scored single runs in the first two frames before the Tigers narrowed the margin to 2-1 in the third inning. LaFayette went up 3-1 in the fourth inning and added a run in the seventh. Adairsville added a single run in the final inning. Trent Currie (3 IP, 1ER, 3H, 2BB, 1K) picked up the pitching win for LaFayette in his start. The Ramblers utilized three more pitchers with Dylan Deering (2 IP, 0R, 2H, 3BB, 4K) closing out the final two frames.
Adairsville’s Jack Whitley (6.2 IP, 4R, 2ER, 9H, 2BB, 6K) was tagged with the pitching loss. Brendon Carroll (0.1 IP) struck out one batter.
Davis Richardson and Nick Adams led the Ramblers with two hits each.
Evan Sanders had two hits for Adairsville. Tyler Driggers (double), Wade Conduff (triple), and Evan Henry (triple) had the other Tigers’ hits.
Adairsville (2-6) plays Armuchee at home Friday in a final tune-up before Region 6-AAA action begins next week.
