Local high school athletes recognized by the Georgia Army National Guard as Positive Athletes

The Georgia Army National Guard recently recognized four local high school athletes as Positive Athlete Award winners for the Northwest Atlanta region for the 2023-24 school year.

The local recipients are:

Darby Adams - Adairsville - Girls Basketball

Cayce Brown - Cass - Girls Golf

Domenic Ciavarro - Woodland - Boys Tennis

Andrew Buffington - Cartersville - Boys Alt

The Positive Athlete program celebrates high character, high school student-athletes and coaches who have overcome difficult circumstances, given back to their schools and communities in a significant way, or just have an infectious positive attitude that makes everyone around them a better person.

The program recognized over 2000 athletes and coaches this year and awarded over $500,000 in scholarships.
