Local high school track and field athletes succeed at the GHSA State Championship Meets

Each of the four local high school track and field teams had athletes participating this past Thursday through Saturday at their respective GHSA State Championship Meets.

Adairsville was in action at the Class AAA Meet at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany while Cartersville, Cass, and Woodland were participating in the Class AAAAA Meet at Kinnett Stadium in Columbus.

State Meet Results for locals:

Aliya McBryde placed 4th in Class AAA in the high jump and was 9th in the long jump.

ADAIRSVILLE

Tre Winters placed 5th in the Class AAA high jump and was 12th in the long jump.

The Lady Canes' 4x800M Relay Team -- Vivi Vest, Elizabeth Nelson, Leyla Booth, and Anna Grace Boone -- placed 5th in Class 5A.

Kaitlyn Godwin of Cass placed in three sprint events at the GHSA Class 5A State Meet
