Local high school volleyball update

Cartersville volleyball split two matches on Thursday at Walton High School in Marietta. The Lady Canes lost to Marist 23-25, 10-25, and defeated the host Raiders 25-18, 25-21.
Amara Ejieke had 10 kills and two blocks in the loss to Marist. McKenzie Wilkie contributed 17 digs. Ejieke, Adelynn England, and Blakely Morris combined for 18 kills in the win over Walton. Morris had four blocks, Wilkie had 14 digs, and Brooke Belarmino and Emma Wall combined for 21 assists.
Adairsville defeated Dalton Academy 25-7, 25-9 on Thursday, but lost to host Chattooga 18-25, 18-25. On Saturday at the Gordon Lee Tournament, the Lady Tigers lost a three-set match to Northwest Whitfield and lost 7-25, 15-25 to LaFayette.
On Thursday, Woodland defeated Osborne 25-15, 25-16, but lost to Paulding County 18-25, 14-25. Dayana Jaimes had six digs, three assists, and three aces in the win over Osborne. Ava Lawler finished with 10 assists, three digs, two kills, and two aces. Emily Guin contributed four kills and three aces, while Aby Childs added five kills, three digs, and two aces. In the loss to Paulding County, Lawler had five assists and five digs. Guin added three kills, four digs, and two aces.
Cass won the second set, but lost a three-set decision at Gordon Central on Thursday, falling 27-25, 26-24, 9-15. The Lady Colonels also lost to Gordon Lee 11-25, 10-25. Alicia Nails had nine kills. Lexie Collum produced three aces, and Nikitta Jett added three aces and one block.
Adairsville (7-14) plays at Calhoun on Tuesday and will also face Heritage-Catoosa. The Lady Tigers will travel to Sonoraville on Thursday.
Cartersville (22-2) hosts Lovett and Blessed Trinity on Tuesday and will face Ringgold, Union Grove, and Westlake on Friday.
Woodland (5-16) hosts Cedartown on Tuesday. Cass (0-20) plays at Allatoona on Tuesday and will also face The King’s Academy. On Thursday, the Lady Colonels play at North Paulding.
