Local high school wrestlers vie for individual region titles this weekend

The Region 7-AAAA Traditional Wrestling will be conducted at Cass High School on Friday, with action beginning on the mats at 3 p.m.
The top four placers in the region tournament will advance to the GHSA Sectionals next weekend at Cambridge High School in Milton.
Local wrestlers that are No. 1 seeds in their respective brackets in Region 7-AAAA:
106 pounds — Cayden Bagley, Woodland
120 — Hayden Trimm, Cass
126 — Adrian Zapata, Woodland
138 — Rowdy Duck, Cass
144 — Luka Jensen, Cass
157 — David Jewell, Cass
165 — Ethan Harrington, Cass
175 — Mason Tompkins, Cass
190 — Owen Jones, Woodland
215 — John Gill, Woodland
The Adairsville wrestlers will be in action at the Region 7-AAA tournament at LaFayette High School on Friday, and the local girls wrestlers will compete on Monday at LaFayette. The girls' tournament was originally scheduled for Saturday, but has been moved due to potential inclement weather.
