Local track and field athletes earn spots in the GHSA State Finals

Local track and field athletes were in action Saturday at Georgia High School Association State Sectional sites.
Cartersville had 19 athletes to qualify for the Class AAAA State Finals next weekend, with several earning spots in multiple events. Cass will send three to the State Finals, and Adairsville advanced two in Class AAA.
The top four placers at each region meet were included in the state sectionals on Saturday. The top eight at each sectional advanced to the GHSA State Finals next Friday and Saturday.
The Class AAAA State Finals will be held at East Jackson High School, and the Class AAA State Finals will be held in Albany. Each event will include sixteen qualifiers.
