Local track and field athletes qualify for the GHSA State Finals

A large group of local high school track and field athletes advanced to the Georgia High School Association State Championship Meets over the weekend at two separate State Sectional qualifiers.

Athletes from Cartersville, Woodland, and Cass competed at the Class 4A Sectional B at North Oconee High School, while Adairsville had qualifiers at the Class 3A Sectional B at Jefferson High School.

The Top 8 in each event advanced to the GHSA State Finals at the University of Georgia Track & Field Complex in Athens. The State Finals for Class 4A will be on Monday, May 11. Class 3A will be on Thursday, May 14.
