Long wins GHSA all-classification 100-pound weight class state championship

Adairsville High School wrestler Jaylee Long won the 100-pound GHSA Girls State Championship on Saturday in Morrow.
Long was seeded 15th in the 16-wrestler all-classification field, but won four straight bouts on Friday and Saturday to capture the title. She won her first two bouts by pinfall on Friday, including a pin of 2nd-seeded Tatum Rooks of Shiloh. Long won by major decision in the state semifinals on Saturday, defeating Harley Nash of Veterans High School.
In the state championship bout against Emma Thomas of Mill Creek, Long scored a takedown in all three periods en route to a 10-2 major decision.
