North Cobb bats too much for Woodland


The North Cobb Warriors produced 15 hits Wednesday night at LakePoint on their way to a 12-1 win over the Woodland Wildcats.


North Cobb led 5-0 early and added to their advantage with two runs in the sixth inning and five more in the seventh.


Woodland scored its run in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 5-1 at the time. Jakiyon Porter had an RBI single that scored Chase Carson after he had singled to open the frame.


Mason Williams had the Wildcats other two hits in the game.


Woodland starting pitcher Ayden Ray (3.2 IP, 5R, 3ER, 7H, 3BB, 5K) suffered the loss. Coby Barrett (2.1 IP, 2ER, 4H, 1BB) and Noah Herring (1 IP, 5ER, 4H, 2BB, 2K) pitched in relief for the Wildcats.


North Cobb improved to 9-1 with the victory.


Woodland (6-5) is scheduled to host East Paulding Friday at 5:55 p.m.
