Zoie Shiflett tossed a six-inning, two-hit shutout Wednesday at Dellinger Park to blank Rockmart, 8-0.
The right-hand hurler issued no walks and struck out three.
The Lady Canes scored two runs in the first and five in the second inning to build an early 7-0 lead. They added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth.
Allana Williams and Carder Brock both hit solo home runs. Taryn Bradley tripled and had three RBI. Shiflett doubled, while LaKiaya Banks, Kennedy Crenshaw (RBI), Sophia Harper (two RBI), and Sam Porter each added one hit.
The loss dropped the Yellow Jackets to 5-3.
Cartersville (13-2, 7-0 Region 7-5A) visits Villa Rica on Thursday night at 7 p.m. and will host Dalton on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
