Saints surge by Excel in fourth quarter
The Excel Christian Academy boys dropped a five-point decision Thursday night at home to the visiting Johnson Ferry Academy Saints, 69-64.
The two teams battled to a 34-34 tie at halftime before ECA built a 54-48 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. Johnson Ferry then outscored the Eagles 21-10 in the final period to escape with a win.
Micah Strech and Jackson Walker led the Saints (5-7) with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Carter May poured in a game-high 27 points to lead Excel. King Eleazer finished with 13 points and Gavin Dyson added 10 for the Eagles.
Excel (2-7) visits Trion on December 22.
