Second-half rally, late goal lifts Canes at Calhoun

The Cartersville Hurricanes rallied from a 2-0 deficit and scored three times in the second half Tuesday night for a 3-2 victory at Calhoun.
Brayden Alonso scored the Canes’ first goal after a Yellow Jackets turnover and found the net from the top of the 18-yard line in the 42nd minute, cutting Cartersville’s deficit in half.
In the 56th minute, Daniel Milan scored in a similar fashion to Alonso's goal, leveling the score at 2-2.
With three minutes remaining in the game, Jayden Nevarez gave Cartersville the lead on a counterattack. Alonso assisted on the game-winning goal.
Keeper Cash Priest was credited with a great game in goal and kept the score within reach throughout the night with some nice saves.
The loss started Calhoun’s season at 0-1.
Cartersville (1-1) evened its season mark following a Monday 2-0 loss at Woodstock. The Canes host Ringgold on Thursday in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
