Tuesday's local soccer roundup:
ADAIRSVILLE GIRLS 8, RINGGOLD 0
Ella Edwards scored five goals and added one assist Tuesday night as the green and gold Lady Tigers won at Ringgold, 8-0.
Adairsville led 5-0 at halftime and defeated Ringgold for the tenth consecutive time.
“Ella Edwards exploited her matchups all game with her speed and ball control,” noted Adairsville head coach Dave Sexauer. “She had great success. Elle Causby controlled the midfield and Piper Tordrup made some key stops on Ringgold’s counterattacks.”
Alivia Joslin finished with two goals and had one assist. Causby had the other Adairsville goal. Alexa Damer contributed two assists. Carly Edwards, Victoria Loudon, and Maddie Gossett added one assist.
Adairsville (8-2, 3-0) hosts Bremen on Thursday.
ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 2, RINGGOLD 1 The loss dropped Ringgold to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in region play.
Adairsville (3-3-2, 2-0 Region 6-AAA) hosts Bremen in another region match on Thursday.
WOODLAND GIRLS 6, EAST PAULDING 1
The Woodland girls soccer team won 6-1 Tuesday night at East Paulding in a non-region match.
The Lady Cats led 2-0 at halftime and outscored the Lady Raiders 4-1 in the second half.
Maddie Weightman scored two goals and had one assist. Reagan Weightman (one assist), Libby Morgan (one assist), Ansley Burns (two assists), and Brionna Carver scored one goal each.
East Paulding falls to 2-6 on the season with the loss.
Woodland (5-1, 0-1) visits Dalton for a Region 7-5A match on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
KENNESAW MOUNTAIN 2, WOODLAND BOYS 0
The host Mustangs scored two goals in the second half on Tuesday to hand the Woodland Wildcats their first loss of the season, 2-0.
Woodland keeper, Miguel Pineda, had 11 saves in goal.
Kennesaw Mountain improved to 4-5-1 on the seaosn.
The Wildcats (7-1, 1-0), currently ranked sixth in Class 5A, return to Region 7-5A play Friday at 3rd-ranked Dalton at 7:30 p.m.
CREEKVIEW 6, CARTERSVILLE BOYS 2
The host Grizzlies built a 4-0 first half lead and defeated the Cartersville boys, 6-2.
Creekview improved to 6-3-1.
Cartersville (2-8, 0-1) hosts Calhoun in a Region 7-5A match on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
CREEKVIEW 3, CARTERSVILLE GIRLS 0
The host Lady Grizzlies broke open a tight contest with two second half goals to earn a 3-0 non-region victory. Creekview improved to 9-1. Cartersville (5-5, 1-0) hosts Calhoun on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in a region tilt.
