Sonoraville wins Adairsville volleyball’s Welcome to the Jungle Tourney

The Sonoraville Phoenix volleyball team went 2-1 in preliminary play and 3-0 in the championship bracket Saturday to win the Adairsville High Welcome to the Jungle Tournament.

Sonoraville had wins over Adairsville and Pickens in the preliminary rounds. Their only loss was to Kell in a match extended to three sets. In bracket play, the Phoenix defeated North Murray and Southeast Whitfield in the first two rounds of the bracket. They then avenged an earlier loss to Kell in the championship match.

Adairsville had preliminary round wins over North Murray and Gordon Central before falling to Pickens in the first round of the championship bracket.

The Lady Tigers (3-7) will host Sonoraville and Cass on Tuesday.
