State tournaments begin Saturday for local Little League softball and baseball all-star teams

Little League Softball and Baseball State Tournaments begin Saturday for several local teams.

The Bartow County Little League Softball 10U team starts play in the 2025 8-10 year old state tournament on Sunday at West Point Little League. Bartow County 10U is scheduled to play at 1 p.m. against the winner of a Saturday game between Dudley Little League and Hart County Little League. The six-team double-elimination tournament will continue through Tuesday with a potential “if game” scheduled for Wednesday night. The Georgia champion will advance to the Regional Tournament of State Champions, which begins on July 24 in Clarksville, Tennessee.

The six-team Georgia Little League Softball tournament for 12U teams also begins Saturday at West Point. The Bartow County 12U team received a first-round bye and will face either Elbert County or Dudley in the second round on Sunday at 10 a.m. The double-elimination tournament continues through Tuesday with a potential “if necessary game” set for Wednesday evening. The state champion will advance to the Little League Southeast Regional, which begins on July 18 in Warner Robins.

Cartersville Little League’s 10U team will play in the Georgia 8-10 year old state tournament at Brinkley Park in Smyrna. Cartersville 10U opens the seven-team tournament at noon on Saturday against Smyrna Little League. The double-elimination tournament finals are scheduled for Thursday, July 10. The tournament winner earns a bid to the regional Tournament of State Champions, which begins on July 18 in Wilson, North Carolina.

The Cartersville Little League 11U baseball team begins the eight-team 9-11 year old baseball state tournament at Eastern Little League in Columbus. Cartersville 11U squares off with Martinez-Evans Little League in the first round on Saturday at 2 p.m.  The eight-team double-elimination tournament continues through the following Thursday. The Georgia champion advances to the Tournament of State Champions in Wilson, North Carolina, beginning July 25.

The Bartow County Junior Little League baseball team is one of five teams at the Georgia Junior Little League State Tournament that begins on Saturday. Bartow received a first-round bye and will play the Hart County/Vine Ingle winner at 2 p.m. The Junior League state tournament continues through Tuesday at Apalachee High School near Winder. The Georgia Junior League champion moves on to the Southeast Regional tournament that begins July 18 in Bridgewater, Virginia.

Finally, the Georgia Little League 12U tournament (for 10-to 12-year-olds) begins on July 12 at Vine Ingle Little League in Macon. Cartersville Little League will participate as the District 1 champion.
