Surcey wins Golfweek International title; Branton/Clyburn capture Roberts Cup Mid-Am


Cartersville resident Christina Surcey fired a 10-under-par, two-day total of 136 this past Saturday and Sunday to win the 2022 Golfweek International Junior Invitational played at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Florida (par 73, 5,882 yards).


Surcey, a student at North Cobb Christian School and a member of Cartersville Country Club, shot an opening round 66 and followed it up with a 70 on Sunday to reach a playoff with Jessica Guiser of Wisconsin. Surcey won the playoff on the second hole of sudden death.

Sabrina Kim of Brazil finished third, just two shots back, while Hsin Tai Lin and Logan Hale tied for fourth at 6-under-par.


The tournament field included 55 players from across the U.S. and around the world.


CARTERSVILLE DUO WINS ROBERTS CUP MID-AM


The Cartersville duo of Chad Branton and R.B. Clyburn teamed to win the 6th annual Roberts Cup - Mid-Am Friday through Sunday at the Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club in Ocala, Florida (par 72, 7,063-yards).


Branton/Clyburn, both members at Cartersville Country Club, shot rounds of 65-63-66 for a 194 total (22-under) to win the tournament by four shots over Jake Shaw and Dan Renfro of Melbourne, Florida.
