Cartersville volleyball defeated Harrison and Kell on Thursday night in Cobb County, improving to 15-1 this season. In other Thursday volleyball action, Adairsville beat Gordon Central in two sets in Calhoun; Woodland lost to Cedartown and Chattooga in Summerville; and Cass lost to host Etowah and River Ridge.
The Lady Canes outlasted Harrison in straight sets, 25-23 and 26-24, before winning two straight sets against Kell (scores/stats not available at publication time). Adairsville (5-8) defeated Gordon Central 25-14 and 25-11.
The Lady Cats (3-10) lost 22-25 and 17-25 at Chattooga as Abygail Childs and Reese Martinak combined for nine kills. Karissa Williamson had three blocks, while Dayanna Jaimes and Emily Guin combined for 22 digs. The loss to Cedartown was 15-25 and 10-25.
Cass (0-11) fell to Etowah 5-25, 10-25, and River Ridge 6-25, 7-25.
Cartersville welcomes Mount Paran Christian and Allatoona on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Adairsville hosts Northwest Whitfield and Southeast Whitfield on Tuesday starting at 5 p.m., and Cass hosts Woodland and Pepperell on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
