Tigers cruise at North Murray, 21-1
The Adairsville Tigers scored four runs in the top of the first and added plenty of scoring late in a five-inning, 21-1 Region 6-AAA win Tuesday night at North Murray.
The win earned a season split with the Mountaineers who won Friday’s matchup at Adairsville, 4-0.
Tuesday night, the Tigers pounded out thirteen hits but also took advantage of eight walks by North Murray pitchers and six errors by the Mountaineers’ defense.
Adairsville pitchers Jack Whitley (3 IP, 0R, 1H, 1BB, 2K) and Brenden Carroll (2 IP, 1R, 0ER, 3H, 1BB, 1K) split the pitching duties and limited the hosts to no earned runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
Logan Hunt had three hits including a triple and one RBI. Evan Sanders contributed a pair of hits and five RBIs. Braden Powell added two hits and one RBI. Elijah Padget totaled one hit and three RBIs. Tyler Driggers, Connor Crunkleton, and Carroll all finished with one hit and one RBI each. Chris Roper and Wade Dooley added a base hit while Dawson Craig, Kyler Smith, and Hayden Blalock added one RBI apiece.
The loss drops North Murray to 4-10 for the season and 1-3 in Region 6-AAA.
Adairsville (6-6, 1-1) plays at Murray County Wednesday and will host the Indians Friday.
