Tigers dominant at Bartow County Swimming Championships


The Adairsville High School swim team celebrates its 2021-22 Bartow County Championship Saturday.

The Adairsville High School swim teams were dominant Saturday in winning the Bartow County Swimming Championships hosted by the Tigers at the Adairsville Swim Center.

The Adairsville boys won each relay and individual event on the day while the Lady Tigers won first place in every event except two. Cartersville’s Katerina Conley won the 200-yard individual medley and Woodland’s Emma Segars took the 100-yard breast stroke to prevent a clean sweep.

Adairsville’s Andy Barnett, Cooper Brown, Brooklyn Chancey, Gabriel Greenway, and Sam Pasley all won a pair of individual events each. Brayden Rizer, Josie Siniard, and Landon Smrcina of the Tigers claimed one event title apiece.

Overall, Adairsville won the combined team title with 947 points. Woodland (634) was second followed by Cass (443) and Cartersville (420).

The results were similar when divided by gender.

The Adairsville girls (436) topped Woodland (317), Cartersville (267), and Cass (208) while the Adairsville boys (511) finished ahead of Woodland (317), Cass (235), and Cartersville (153).
