Tigers drop non-region game at Chattooga

Chattooga used a six-run third inning and added on in the fourth and fifth innings to defeat visiting Adairsville Tuesday night 10-4. Adairsville led 1-0 heading into the third inning but the Indians took an 8-1 lead through four innings. The Tigers narrowed the margin to 8-4 in the top of the fifth but that would be as close as they would get. Chattooga answered with two runs in the bottom of the fifth for an eventual 10-4 final score.

Adairsville had a pair of baserunners in each of the final two innings but were not able to produce a run. Zack Tucker led Chattooga (2-3) with three hits including a double and five RBIs.

Adairsville’s offense was led by Jacob Ray and Logan Hunt with two hits each. Ray’s hits included a triple and one RBI. Tyler Driggers drove in a pair of runs with a fifth inning single. He also forced in the Tigers’ first run in the first with a bases loaded walk. Elijah Padgett had the other Adairsville hit.

The Tigers utilized six pitchers in the loss. Wade Dooley (2 IP, 0R, 1H, 2BB, 1K); Padgett (0.2 IP, 6R, 0ER, 1H, 4BB, 2K); Gunner Millsap (0.2 IP, 2ER, 2H, 3BB, 3K); Grayson Belcher (1 IP, 2ER, 3BB, 2K); Eli Agnew (0.2 IP, 0R, 1H); and Braden Powell (1 IP, 0R, 0H, 3K).
