Tigers, Eagles suffer road losses

Gordon Lee pitcher Aiden Goodwin struck out six and limited visiting Adairsville to two hits and five walks in a 10-0 shutout on Monday in Chickamauga.
Meanwhile the Trojans’ offense led 3-0 after two innings, 7-0 after four, and finished the game with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Jack Nelson (3 IP, 6ER, 5H, 4BB, 5K) made the pitching start for the Tigers and was tagged with the loss. Ryan Farr (1 IP, 1ER, 1H, 2BB, 2K) and Easton Elrod (4 BF, 3R, 1ER, 1H, 2BB) also pitched for Adairsville.
Hudson Parr had both Adairsville hits including one double.
Gordon Lee improved to 9-8 on the season and 3-0 in Region 6-AAA.
Adairsville (9-5, 2-1) hosts the Trojans on Thursday and LaFayette on Friday.
HOLY GROUND BAPTIST ACADEMY 15, EXCEL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 5
Holy Ground Baptist Academy produced fifteen runs in the first three innings on Monday to defeat visiting Excel Christian 15-5 in five innings.
Excel scored three runs in the top of the first inning to grab an early lead but Holy Ground would plate nine runs in the bottom of the inning to take control. The Stallions added five more runs in the second inning to lead 14-3.
The Eagles posted two runs in the top of the third inning and Holy Ground added one more run in the bottom of the frame.
The Stallions outhit Excel ten to eight. The Eagles committed four errors.
David Jinks (1 IP, 13R, 4ER, 7H, 4BB, 2K) was saddled with the pitching loss. Cameron Adams (3 IP, 2ER, 3H, 1BB, 4K) also pitched for the Eagles.
McKaden Gentry (RBI), David Jinks, and Gavin Dyson had two hits for Excel Christian. Jacob Jinks (double, four RBIs) had the other Eagles’ hit.
Holy Ground Baptist improved to 6-1 for the season.
ECA (3-6, 2-2 GAPPS I-A, Region 1) visits CrossePoint Christian on Tuesday.
