Tigers fall just short at 10th-ranked LaFayette
The Adairsville Tigers went on the road Tuesday night and took region-leading and 10th-ranked LaFayette down to the wire before coming up short in a 78-75 loss. Decameron Porter and Aidan Hadaway led the Ramblers with 27 and 25 points, respectively.
Adairsville led 23-14 after one quarter and held a 39-36 lead at halftime, but the Ramblers surged ahead 61-53 by the end of the third quarter. The Tigers made another run in the final period, but came up shy in a three-point loss. T.J. Printup, Jr. scored a game-high 36 points to lead the Tigers. Tucker Deams followed with 21 points on seven, three-pointers.
LaFayette improved to 16-1 for the season and 13-1 in Region 6-AAA.
Adairsville (10-11, 4-10) will finish up regular season play this Friday at home against Rockmart.
LAFAYETTE 74, ADAIRSVILLE GIRLS 25
The Lady Ramblers pulled away early with a 31-8 lead after the opening eight minutes in Tuesday night’s 74-25 region win.
Mykeria Johnson led the scoring for LaFayette with 26 points. LaTayah Barber scored 19 for the Lady Ramblers.
Lexie Childers and Alyssa Jarrett finished with four points each for the Lady Tigers.
LaFayette improved to 10-8 on the year and 7-8 in region play.
Adairsville (6-18, 3-12) hosts Rockmart Friday at 7 p.m. in their regular season finale’.
