Tigers hand Wolfpack first loss

The Adairsville Tigers scored nine runs over the final two innings on Monday and defeated visiting Woodland-Stockbridge, 12-2, in six innings.
The Tigers scored two in the bottom of the fifth to lead 5-2, then exploded for seven runs in the sixth to abbreviate the game and hand Woodland-Stockbridge (3-1) its first loss.
Adairsville outhit the Wolfpack eight to five, but Woodland-Stockbridge committed nine errors, including three in the final frame.
McCayden Hufstetler (4 IP, 2ER, 4H, 2BB, 5K) made the Tigers’ pitching start and picked up the win. Hudson Parr (2 IP, 0R, 1H, 0BB, 4K) tossed two shutout innings.
Harrison Cole (home run, double, two RBI) had two hits for Adairsville. Brody Varner (double, two RBI), Tyler Parker (home run, two RBI), Parr (double, two RBI), Braden Slocum (two RBI), Kaden Coker, and Bryson Weave each added one hit.
Adairsville (3-1) hosts Cass on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and Darlington on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
