The Adairsville Tigers locked up a state playoff berth Tuesday night at home with a 6-5 win over Bremen.
The Tigers scored all six of their runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-2 lead and then held off the Blue Devils late for the one-run win.
Bremen scored twice in the top of the fourth for a 2-0 lead and added three more runs in the sixth inning.
Dawson Craig (5.2 IP, 5R, 0ER, 2H, 4BB, 4K) earned the pitching win for Adairsville by working into the sixth inning. Jarrett Scott (1.1 IP, 0R, 1H, 1BB, 1K) earned a save by retiring the final four outs.
Three Tigers finished with two hits each including Jarrett Scott (double, RBI), Landon O’Neal (RBI), and Chris Roper.
Adairsville (15-10, 9-4 Region 6-AAA) visits Bremen (15-10, 6-7) Thursday at 5:55 p.m. to wrap up regular season play. With a win, Adairsville could reach a second-place tie with Gordon Lee in the region standings, but the Trojans hold the seeding tie-breaker.
That means the Tigers will begin the Class AAA state playoffs on the road with a doubleheader next Monday at either Carver-Atlanta or Sandy Creek.
