Tigers open '23 campaign with 6-2 win over Dominion Christian


The Adairsville Tigers posted runs in four of their six offensive frames Monday night and had three pitchers combine to scatter just four hits in a 6-2 season opening win at home over Dominion Christian.


Kaiden Coker (1 IP, 0R, 2H) was credited with the pitching win for Adairsville after working a scoreless fifth inning in relief of starter Jack Whitley (4 IP, 2ER, 2H, 6BB, 4K). Jack Nelson (2 IP, 0R, 0H, 0BB, 4K) closed out the final two innings for the Tigers.


Evan Sanders finished with two hits for Adairsville. Luke Altizer (double, 2 RBIs), Peyton Bowen (RBI double), Jarrett Scott (RBI), Landon O’Neal (RBI), Chris Roper (double), Tyler Driggers, and Jack Nelson added one hit each.


Adairsville (1-0) hosts Sonoraville Thursday in another non-region game at 5:30 p.m.
