Tigers roar: Adairsville blasts Ridgeland with 11 runs, one-hitter in region rout

With five runs in the bottom of the second and six more in the sixth inning, the Adairsville Tigers put away the visiting Ridgeland Panthers in a Region 7-AAA diamond matchup on Wednesday evening.
The Tigers scored their second-inning runs with only two hits, capitalizing on three walks and a sacrifice bunt during that inning. In the sixth inning, Adairsville benefited from four additional walks and an error. The Tigers brought in runs with three more hits.
Adairsville starting pitcher McCayden Hufstetler tossed a one-hitter in a six-inning complete game on the mound. He issued one walk and struck out three.
Brody Varner had two hits and two RBI for the Tigers. Harrison Cole (double, two RBI), Evan Hardin (RBI), Hayden Miller, and Matthew Cook (double) each contributed one hit. Bryson Weaver produced one RBI.
Adairsville (13-4, 5-2) and Ridgeland (5-7, 0-4) will continue their three-game series on Thursday and Friday. The Panthers will host on Thursday, and the series will conclude at Adairsville on Friday. Both games are 5:30 p.m. starts.
