Tigers stumble in series opener at LaFayette

The Adairsville Tigers lost the opening game of their three-game, home-and-home series against LaFayette on Tuesday night. The Ramblers, playing at home, secured a 4-1 victory in the first matchup.


LaFayette took an early advantage with a run in the bottom of the first inning. Although the Tigers equalized in the third inning, the Ramblers responded with three consecutive runs in the third and fourth innings.


McCayden Hufstetler (4 IP, 4R, 2ER, 4H, 5BB, 9K) started on the mound for Adairsville and suffered the pitching loss. Tyler Parker (2 IP, 0R, 1H, 3K) pitched the final two innings for the Tigers.


Harrison Cole had two hits for Adairsville. Westin Barfield (double), Brody Varner, Hudson Parr, and Hayden Miller each added one hit.


LaFayette (12-14, 3-13) and Adairsville (16-8, 8-5) will continue their series on Thursday and Friday. The Tigers will play at home on Thursday at 5:30 p.m., while the Ramblers will host the final game of the series on Friday at 6 p.m.
