Tigers' volleyball earns split at Pickens


Adairsville volleyball split a pair of non-region matches Thursday evening in Jasper. The Tigers lost to the Cherokee Warriors 25-17 and 25-9, but outlasted the host Pickens Dragons in the nightcap 19-25, 25-16, and 15-12. In the loss to Cherokee, Autumn Henderson had four blocks and Katlyn Burnett finished with three digs. In the victory over Pickens, Kaylee Jordan finished with eight digs and four kills. Aaliyah Applin totaled seven digs and a pair of aces. Richlyn Blair contributed five digs, three kills, and two aces while Burnett added four digs. Adairsville (5-4) will play in the Fannin County Tournament Saturday and will host Lafayette and Coahulla Creek next Tuesday.
