Tigers win PK shootout with Pickens

The Adairsville High School boys’ soccer team earned a home win on penalty kicks over Pickens on Wednesday night.
The Tigers carried a 1-0 lead to halftime following a first-half goal by Moonan Poch off an assist from Cooper Souders.
The visiting Dragons (1-1) scored an equalizer in the second half, ultimately sending the match to penalty kicks for a decision.
John-Mark Shepherd, Carlos Limones, and Fletcher Silvers scored penalty kicks for Adairsville, and Pickens managed only two successful kicks. Tigers’ goalkeeper Charlie Potter was credited with several key saves throughout the match. Potter also blocked a penalty kick in the extra session to secure the Adairsville win.
Adairsville (2-1) hosts Murray County on Friday at 7 p.m.
