Tuesday night’s local high school baseball roundup includes one-sided wins by the Canes and Colonels, while Woodland and Adairsville dropped region contests.
CARTERSVILLE 14, DALTON 4
The Hurricanes posted eleven runs in the first three innings Tuesday evening and cruised to defeat visiting Dalton 14-4 in six innings.
Nate Russell (4 IP, 4R, 2ER, 4H, 3BB, 7K) collected the pitching victory. J.B. Nichols (2 IP, 0R, 1H, 1BB, 4K) worked scoreless fifth and sixth innings on the mound.
Cooper Reynolds led the Canes offense with five hits, including two triples and three RBI. David Vargas followed with four hits, including one triple, one double, and three RBI. Nolan Elrod (two RBI) and Asa Mitcham contributed two hits. Cole Crawford (double, sac fly, three RBI), Parker Lively, and Gianni Gandy each added one hit.
Cartersville (21-7, 19-0) wraps up regular season play at Dalton (17-9, 13-6) on Thursday with a 5 p.m. doubleheader.
CASS 12, HIRAM 0
The Cass Colonels celebrated their 2026 seniors and needed only 4-½ innings Tuesday night to defeat the visiting Hiram Hornets, 12-0, behind the no-hit pitching of Andrew Ray.
The Colonels’ hurler issued just one walk and fanned six.
Cass scored four runs in the second inning, five in the third, and three in the fourth to take the win.
Zach Stiles (two RBI), Dustin Wallin (RBI), Landon Lamb, and Landon Farmer each had one hit for the Colonels, who took advantage of ten walks and four errors by the Hornets.
Cass (9-19, 6-13) will finish the 2026 campaign with a doubleheader at Hiram (9-20, 2-17) on Friday, scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.
NORTHWEST WHITFIELD 10, ADAIRSVILLE 0
Northwest Whitfield pitcher Kaylor Stancill struck out eight and allowed just two hits and one walk Tuesday evening to blank the Adairsville Tigers, 10-0, in six innings.
The host Bruins led a tight game 2-0 through 4-½ innings before scoring four times in the fifth and sixth innings to close out the first game of this week’s 7-AAA series.
Adairsville utilized five pitchers in brief stints in the loss. McCayden Hufstetler (2 IP, 2ER, 2H, 3BB, 2K) made the start for the Tigers and was tagged with the loss. Westin Barfield (2.1 IP, 3R, 1ER, 2H, 1BB, 4K), Kaden Coker (0.1 IP, 1R, 0ER, 2H, 1K), Tyler Parker (0.1 IP, 4ER, 3H, 2BB), and Bryson Weaver (0.1 IP, 1H) also pitched.
Evan Hardin and Coker had the only Adairsville base hits.
The Tigers (18-9, 10-6) will host Northwest Whitfield (14-14, 9-7) on Thursday at 5:30 p.m., and the series concludes on Friday in Tunnel Hill at 5:30 p.m.
ALLATOONA 15, WOODLAND 0
Allatoona pitcher Cooper Slayton struck out six and blanked visiting Woodland on one hit and one walk Tuesday for a 15-0 win.
The Buccaneers scored eight runs in the first inning, six in the third, and finished the game with a final run in the fourth inning.
Tucker James (0.2 IP, 7ER, 5H, 2BB) made the pitching start for the Wildcats. Alfredo Romo (1.2 IP, 5R, 4ER, 3H, 2BB), Preston Sorrells (0.2 IP, 2ER, 2H, 1K), and Cole Williams (0.2 IP, 1R, 0ER, 1H, 1BB) pitched in relief.
Logan Smith had the Wildcats’ only base hit.
Allatoona (20-9, 14-5) visits Woodland (13-14, 8-11) for a doubleheader on Thursday at 5 p.m.
