Tuesday’s local high school basketball results:



CASS GIRLS 42, EAST PAULDING 25


The Cass girls' basketball team won at East Paulding Tuesday night, 42-25.


Zion Hayes led the Lady Colonels with 14 points. Olivia Woods followed with 10. Kiana McDaniel and Kaitlyn Godwin added six each.


Cass led 17-16 at halftime but pulled away in the second half by outscoring the Lady Raiders 25-9 over the final 16 minutes.


East Paulding falls to 0-2 on the season.


Cass (2-0) hosts Rome next Tuesday, November 28 with the tip at 6 p.m.




WOODLAND GIRLS 45, DARLINGTON 39


Gracie Shipp led the way with 15 points including nine in the fourth quarter to help lead the Lady Cats to a 45-39 win over Darlington at the Adairsville Thanksgiving Classic. 


Reagan Weightman added 10 points for Woodland.


Darlington led 25-22 at halftime and 29-27 after three quarters before the Lady Cats won the final eight minutes, 18-10.


Caroline Jordan led Darlington (1-3) with 15 points.


Woodland (2-1) plays at Adairsville next Tuesday, November 28 at 6 p.m.




EAST PAULDING 74, CASS BOYS 70


Cameron Jackson scored 16 points and Nate Simmons added 15 as East Paulding outlasted the Cass boys on Tuesday night, 74-70.


East Paulding improved to 1-1 on the season.


Jayden Foster paced Cass with 25 points. Jeremy Dent followed with 19 and Dylan Miller scored 13 for the Colonels.


Cass (0-2) hosts Rome on Tuesday, November 28 at 7:30 p.m.




MODEL 48, ADAIRSVILLE GIRLS 40


Played Monday night at the Adairsville Thanksgiving Classic.


Model improved to 3-0.  Adairsville fell to 1-1.




DALTON 70, ADAIRSVILLE GIRLS 29


The Lady Catamounts defeated the Lady Tigers 70-29 Tuesday night at the Adairsville Thanksgiving Classic.


Dalton led 25-16 after one quarter; 36-21 at halftime; and 51-27 after three quarters.


Grace Ridley led Dalton with 15 points. Alissa Winters scored 11 to lead the Lady Tigers.


Adairsville (1-2) hosts Woodland next Tuesday, November 28 at 6 p.m.


SIGNAL MOUNTAIN (TN) 78, ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 63 The Adairsville Tigers dropped a 78-63 decision Tuesday night to Signal Mountain (Tennessee) in the opening round of the Ridgeland Thanksgiving Classic in Rossville.


The Tigers led 16-10 after one quarter but fell behind in the second quarter and did not catch up. The Eagles took a 37-30 lead by halftime and maintained a 58-51 advantage through three quarters.


Tre Winters scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Tigers. Tay Jackson followed with 17 points and Xavious Nalls added nine for Adairsville.



Signal Mountain (3-1) was led by Andrew Matukewicz with 25 points. Josh Thompson and Chris Kennedy posted 17 and 15 points, respectively.



Adairsville (0-1) returns to action Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. against East Hamilton (Tennessee) at the Ridgeland Classic.




GORDON CENTRAL 82, EXCEL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY BOYS 52


Monday at the Gordon Central Thanksgiving Tournament. 


The loss dropped ECA to 0-3 on the season.




EXCEL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY BOYS 56, SOUTHEAST WHITFIELD 41


The Eagles picked up their first win of the season Tuesday night at the Gordon Central Thanksgiving Tournament. Excel topped Southeast Whitfield, 56-41. Excel trailed 23-21 at the intermission but outscored the Raiders 35-18 in the second half for a 15-point win.


Excel Christian (1-3) plays at Praise Academy next Tuesday, November 28.
