Tuesday's soccer roundup: Lady Colonels blank Murray, Cass boys play Indians to 1-1 draw


The Cass girls soccer team got a first half goal from Dayanara Pineda and made it stand up in a 1-0 win Tuesday night at home over Murray County.

The loss dropped the Lady Indians to 1-5-1 on the season.

Cass (2-6-1, 0-1) hosts Cartersville Friday in a 5:30 p.m. kickoff.


CASS BOYS 1, MURRAY COUNTY 1

The Cass boys played visiting Murray County to a 1-1 draw Tuesday night.

The tie leaves Murray County with a 1-5-1 mark.

Cass (6-3-1) hosts Cartersville Friday night at 7:30 p.m.


NORTH MURRAY 2, ADAIRSVILLE GIRLS 1

The Lady Tigers led visiting North Murray 1-0 at halftime on Kaylee Jordan’s goal in the 42nd minute. The goal came off an assist from Emma Collins.

The Lady Mountaineers responded in the second half, however, to send the game to overtime and picked up the Region 6-AAA win in overtime.

North Murray improved to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in region play.

Adairsville (5-2-1, 1-2) returns to action next Tuesday at Murray County.


NORTH MURRAY 6, ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 1

North Murray improved to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in Region 6-AAA with their 6-1 win Tuesday night at Adairsville.

Adairsville (3-6, 1-2) travels to Murray County for another region match next Tuesday.




HERITAGE-CATOOSA 6, WOODLAND GIRLS 0


The Lady Cats slipped to 4-3-2 following their non-region loss Tuesday night to the visiting Heritage Lady Generals.


With the victory, Heritage remains unbeaten on the season at 5-0.


Woodland returns to Region 7-5A action Friday at Hiram in a 5:30 p.m. kickoff.



CARTERSVILLE GIRLS 7, SANDY CREEK 4


The Lady Canes improved to 2-5-1 with their win over Sandy Creek (1-4) Tuesday night in Tyrone. Cartersville plays at Cass Friday.



CARTERSVILLE BOYS 4, SANDY CREEK 2

The Cartersville boys improved to 4-4-1 with a 4-2 win Tuesday night at Sandy Creek (1-5-1).


The Canes return to Region 7-5A action Friday at Cass.
