Tuesday's softball action: Crabbe tosses no-hitter as Lady Canes blank Hiram

Cartersville pitcher Pressley Crabbe tossed a six-inning no-hitter and struck out six as the 5th-ranked Lady Canes blanked visiting Hiram on Tuesday, 8-0.


Jordan Bishop (double, homer, two RBI) and Reese Dumas (double, two RBI) led the Purple Hurricanes offense. Addi Burns (two RBI), Layne Callan (RBI), Kennedy Crenshaw, and Milayah Bryant (double) added one hit.


The loss dropped Hiram to 2-14 overall and 1-13 in region play.


Cartersville (14-4, 12-1) plays at Cedartown on Wednesday in a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.




WOODLAND 13, SOUTHEAST WHITFIELD 2


The Lady Cats pounded out 11 hits and scored 13 runs in the first three innings Tuesday night for a 13-2 victory at Southeast Whitfield.


Kamryn Smith (5 IP, 2R, 1ER, 4H, 0BB, 2K) collected the pitching win for Woodland.


Bailey Ryan paced the Wildcats’ offense with three hits, including a triple and two RBI. Ashlyn Baines (double, two RBI) and Jordan Hammonds (RBI) followed with two hits. Smith (two RBI), Gracie Korb (two RBI), Alana Carnes (RBI), and Mackenzie Araya added one hit.


The loss dropped the Raiders to 1-15 overall and 1-11 in Region 7-4A.


Woodland (4-9, 4-8) hosts 9th-ranked Allatoona on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.




ALLATOONA 4, CASS 2


Cass and Allatoona traded runs through three innings Tuesday evening and were tied at 2, but the 9th-ranked Lady Buccaneers produced single runs in the fourth and sixth innings to pull out a 4-2 region win.


Lily Powell (6 IP, 4R, 3ER, 8H, 2BB, 4K) worked a complete game in the circle but suffered the pitching loss for Cass.


Cayce Brown had two hits, including a double for the Lady Colonels. Sydney Satterfield (double, RBI), Molli Morrow, and Darianna Sosa had the other Cass base hits.


Allatoona moved to 13-2 on the season and 13-1 in region games.


Cass (10-7, 8-5) visits Dalton on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. start.




HERITAGE-CATOOSA 7, ADAIRSVILLE 0


Class AAA No. 1-ranked Heritage-Catoosa scored five runs in the fifth inning Tuesday night at Adairsville on the Generals’ way to a 7-0 region win. 


Heritage pitcher Addie Edwards tossed a seven-inning no hitter and struck out 18.


Heritage led 1-0 with a run in the top of the third inning and later added a solo home run in the top of the seventh.


The Generals finished with 11 hits.


Jordan Clay (7 IP, 7ER, 11H, 2BB, 3K) took the pitching loss for the Tigers.


Adairsville (12-7, 4-6) travels to Ringgold on Wednesday for a rematch with the Lady Generals (15-1, 9-0).
