Tuesday's volleyball roundup: Adairsville, ECA, Woodland earn wins


Jenna Claire Hendley had three kills in the Tigers win Tuesday over Temple and six service aces in Adairsville's victory over Dalton Academy.

Adairsville volleyball swept a pair of home matches Tuesday night over Temple and Dalton Academy.


The host Tigers beat Temple 25-20, 25-15 as Jenna Claire Hendley, Addie Pearson, and Jordan Hartline finished with three kills each. Jayna Wilson produced eight blocks and three service aces while Adysen Garvey also finished with three aces.


In a 25-6, 25-10 win over Dalton Academy, Richlyn Blair had 10 kills. Pearson finished with four kills, and Hendley added six service aces.


Adairsville (5-5-2) travels to Temple Thursday where they will also face Central-Carroll.


ECA volleyball sweeps Covenant Christian

Excel Christian Academy volleyball improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in their GAPPS region with a straight sets win Tuesday over Covenant Christian of Cedartown.


The Lady Eagles won 25-22, 25-13, and 25-16 to take the best-of-five sets match.


Excel hosts Unity Christian Saturday at 11 a.m.


Woodland splits non-region matches with Campbell, Sprayberry


The Lady Cats split a pair of non-region volleyball matches Tuesday night in Marietta, falling to Campbell 25-21, 25-15 before bouncing back to defeat host Sprayberry 25-23, 25-16. Madison West had 10 kills, seven digs, and two aces for the Wildcats. Kendall Condon finished with 13 assists, six digs, and three aces. Anastyn Jones contributed seven kills and eight digs. Lili Womack totaled 16 digs with four assists.


Woodland (2-8-1) hosts East Paulding Thursday afternoon.


Cartersville volleyball suffers losses

The Lady Canes dropped a pair of matches Tuesday night at South Forsyth, narrowly falling to the hosts 25-23, 25-23 before losing to Creekview 25-18, 27-25.


Cartersville (2-4) will host Cherokee and Cambridge Thursday at The Storm Center starting at 5:30 p.m.



Cass falls on the road


The Lady Colonels dropped non-region road matches Tuesday night at LaFayette, losing to the host Ramblers 26-24, 25-13 and Armuchee 25-18, 25-21.


Cass (5-5) hosts Gordon Lee and Rockmart Thursday starting at 5 p.m.
