Tuesday's volleyball roundup: Woodland wins two region matches

Woodland won a pair of Region 7-5A matches Tuesday night at Calhoun taking down Cass 25-12, 25-16 and Hiram 25-23, 20-25, 15-10.


Kendall Condon totaled 24 assists, 11 digs, four kills, and three aces in the two matches. Megan Schultz had 11 digs, three kills, and three aces. Lili Womack finished with 10 digs and six aces. Anastyn Jones contributed 12 kills. Kiera Pedigo had eight kills, and Katie Clowers added eight aces.


The Lady Cats (10-19, 2-2) play at Cedartown on Thursday and will also face Paulding County.


CARTERSVILLE DROPS TWO MATCHES IN DALTON


The 8th-ranked Lady Canes dropped a pair of straight sets matches Tuesday night in Dalton, falling to East Hamilton (Tennessee) and 6th-ranked Dalton.


Cartersville (20-11, 2-1 Region 7-5A) plays at Hiram and will also face Cass in more region matches next Tuesday (Sept. 26).



ADAIRSVILLE GOES 1-1 TUESDAY IN REGION MATCHES


Adairsville volleyball lost the first set with Ridgeland Tuesday night but fought back to win the final two sets 25-12 and 15-8 to defeat the Panthers in a Region 6-AAA match.


The Tigers lost their match, however, with host Ringgold 25-12, 25-14.


In the win over Ridgeland, Addie Pearson, Jayna Wilson, and Makenzie Harris combined for 17 kills. Cara Harp had five aces. Harris added two blocks and Sherry Wells contributed 10 digs and six assists.


In the Adairsville loss to Ringgold, Pearson had three kills and Wells added 11 digs.


The Lady Tigers (8-14, 1-2) play a best-of-five match at Sonoraville Thursday night prior to participating in the Raider Rally in Dalton on Saturday.
