Undefeated Northeast Alabama CC blanks Chargers

Georgia Highlands College softball lost both games of a home doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon, falling to the unbeaten and nationally third-ranked Northeast Alabama CC Mustangs 4-0 and 10-0.
Northeast Alabama starting pitcher, Addie Edwards, recorded eight strikeouts and tossed a complete-game one-hitter in the first game. The Mustangs then used a trio of pitchers in the circle in the second game and again limited the GHC offense to just four hits.
Emily Ferro (6 IP, 4R, 3ER, 9H, 1BB, 2K) and Athens Hudson (1 IP, 0R, 0H) pitched for the Chargers in the opening loss. CeCe Williams (1.2 IP, 5ER, 3H, 3BB, 1K) and Hudson (5.1 IP, 5R, 3ER, 8H, 2BB, 2K) pitched for Georgia Highlands in Game 2.
Anslee Logan had the only Chargers hit in the first game. Emma Darrow (double), Gracie Azpeitia, Williams, and Logan had one hit in the second game.
Northeast Alabama CC improved to 18-0 on the season.
Georgia Highlands (8-10, 1-1 GCAA) hosts a conference doubleheader with Gordon State College on Sunday at 1 p.m.
