Venue change for Canes' state championship series

The Georgia High School Association has changed the Class AAAA Baseball Championship Series venue..

The best-of-three series between the Cartersville Purple Hurricanes and the Blessed Trinity Titans will now be conducted at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.

According to Canes head coach Kyle Tucker, the venues for the championship series were shuffled due to graduation dates at the schools involved.

The Cartersville-Blessed Trinity series will begin with a doubleheader on Wednesday, May 21, at 5 p.m. The “if necessary game” is scheduled for Thursday, May 22, at 6 p.m.
