Volleyball roundup: Lady Canes cruise at Cedartown, Adairsville tops Calhoun

Cartersville volleyball swept matches in Polk County Tuesday evening, defeating Cedartown in a Region 7-4A contest and Bremen.

The Lady Canes (24-5, 4-1) cruised to a 25-6, 25-9 win over Cedartown and topped Bremen 25-20, 25-15.

Adairsville (7-19, 1-5) defeated visiting Calhoun in straight sets on Tuesday, 25-12, 25-7, but lost to Northwest Whitfield.

Cass (2-19, 0-5) lost to Southeast Whitfield and host Dalton on Tuesday. The Lady Colonels lost 25-11, 25-6 to Southeast and 25-12, 25-15 to the host Lady Catamounts.

Woodland (7-20, 0-5) also dropped two matches on Tuesday. The Lady Cats battled Hiram in a three-set match and won the opening set 26-24 before falling 25-19, 15-12 in the final two sets. The Wildcats also lost to Allatoona 25-7, 25-11.

Bella King had seven aces, four blocks, and two kills for Woodland. Izzy Hazelwood contributed 15 assists and seven digs. Aby Childs totaled eight kills and ten digs. Emily Guin had 17 digs.
