Wildcats blank Model to snap skid

Woodland baseball snapped a three-game skid Friday evening with a 4-0 shutout win at Model. Carter Heath (6 IP, 0R, 1H, 0BB, 10K) picked up the pitching win and Nate Rosser (1 IP, 0R, 0H, 1K) a save as the two hurlers combined for the Wildcats’ one-hitter.

Woodland took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning and score remained that way until Woodland’s half of the sixth inning. The Wildcats secured the win by posting three more runs in the penultimate frame.

Six different Wildcats had one hit each.

Peyton Posey (2 RBIs), Carter Heath, and Scotty Smith each doubled. Chase Carson, Jakiyon Porter, and Drew Billings added one single each.

The loss dropped Model to 6-2 for the season.

Woodland (4-5) hosts Kennesaw Mountain Saturday at 12 noon.
