Wildcats start '24 campaign with a road win

The Woodland boys soccer team roared into action on Friday night at East Paulding and dispatched the host Raiders, 6-1. Joel Alberto ignited the Wildcats' offense with a goal in the 13th minute off an assist from Juan Mendoza to give Woodland a 1-0 lead. Chris Sanchez followed with a nice header into the net in the 30th minute off another Mendoza pass.
Alberto struck again off a Mendoza feed in the 39th minute giving the Wildcats a 3-0 advantage at the intermission.
In the second half, Sanchez contributed goals in the 47th, 58th, and 73rd minutes. Each goal was assisted by Juan Pineda.
Keeper Miguel Pineda made eight saves on the night for the Wildcats.
Woodland (1-0) will host Pepperell on Thursday.
