Woodland blanks Wheeler, 14-0

Ready to defend at third base, Kamryn Smith was a contributor Saturday in the Lady Cats' 12-hit attack in just four innings.

Woodland softball needed just four innings to win at Wheeler on Saturday, 14-0.


Bailey Ryan had three hits including a pair of doubles and one RBI to lead the Wildcats on offense. Ashlynn Baines followed with two hits including one double and two RBIs. Jordan Hammonds (RBI), Lainey Calhoun (RBI), Kamryn Smith, Alana Carnes, Elizabeth Hartsfield (double, RBI), Peyton Dorn (double, two RBIs), and Harley Hannah (RBI) added one hit each. Bailey Gerstner and Mackenzie Araya contributed one RBI each.


Baines collected the pitching win for the Lady Cats. She tossed four innings of shutout ball yielding two hits and two walks. She struck out one.


The loss dropped Wheeler to 1-7 on the season.


Woodland (9-2, 2-2 Region 7-5A) plays at Cass Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and at Northwest Whitfield Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
